YONSEA FARM REBUILT

A regeneration project relocating an historic Georgian farm complex in order to save heritage from the impact of the engineering works of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. The Napoleonic Wars prompted England to design model farms to maximise domestic production against the threat of a French naval blockade. The rebuilt complex will be an education and training centre with public access at no extra cost to visitors to the South of England Rare Breeds Centre. Visitors will learn about English rural history and enjoy the architecture of Georgian times when England was the world leader in agricultural science. The project will be economically sustained by the educational workspace. Today, the work in progress can be seen by visitors to the South of England Rare Breed Centre Woodchurch, South of Ashford in Kent.
